How do I place an order?
If you'd like to place an order you can fill out the order form located at the bottom of this page or right >>> here. We'll get back to you within 24 hours to confirm any details and book your date for pickup. After we've confirmed all the details and everything is clear, we'll send an Order Confirmation email outlining your order, pickup date and time, pickup location and total cost due at the time of pickup.
How much notice do you need for an order?
Ideally, we like to have one month notice. We run other parts of the creative studio as well and this helps us organize our work schedule a bit better. We need to make sure that we always have the time scheduled to fill orders and be available for pickups. Generally, the more time the better. The sooner you get your request in, the better your chances are that we'll be able to book and confirm your order. We do need a minimum of one week notice for ANY order. If we are unable to fulfill your order request for the date you chose, we will let you know as soon as possible. Orders are by first come, first served.
do you offer nut, gluten or dairy free options?
We do not offer gluten free or dairy free options. Macarons are always a good option for gluten free. All of our baked goods are made in the studio kitchen where they have at some point in time come into contact with nuts, gluten and dairy. If you're extremely allergic and/or sensitive to these things, you're best bet is to check out a bakery that specializes in this area.
Do you make sheet cakes or tiered cakes to order?
No, at this time we specialize in round, small layered cakes. Amazing things come in small packages! But tiered cakes are in the works so check back often. Yay!
I want to purchase a dozen macarons, why don't you have this option?
At the moment we offer macaron purchase with a minimum order of 4 dozen which works perfectly for events, parties and weddings. But stay tuned, in the future we hope to sell our macarons and cakes at small fairs or local farmers markets within Vancouver - and you'll be able to purchase boxes of macarons by the dozen!
I just want a simple cake, do i have to fill out the form?
Yes, please do! It makes the whole process a lot more simple. Don't worry it's pretty self explanatory and will take no more than a few minutes. Your order is very important to us and we want to make sure that all the details are taken care of upfront so that all you have to do is pickup your order and enjoy eating and sharing it with your loved ones. We also spend a lot of time planning and preparing so that you have the most enjoyable cake/cupcakes/macarons possible, the details ensure that you are going to be happy with your purchase.
How do I care for my cake, cupcakes or macarons
Cakes, cupcakes and macarons are all best served at room temperature. We use swiss meringue buttercream and therefore your cake, cupcakes and macarons will withstand most temperatures and still be lovely! Always bring cakes/cupcakes/macarons to room temperature (around 45 minutes - 1 hour) prior to serving. If you have leftover cake, cupcakes or macarons, they will do best if you store them in an air-tight container and keep them in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Some people even say that you can freeze macarons for up to one month and they still taste delicious. For all leftovers, allow them to come to room temperature again before serving. *Anything with cream cheese icing should not be left out of the fridge for more than 1 - 2 hours.
my cake has gold leaf on it, is it safe to eat?
All of our cakes come with a little bit of 24 karat gold leaf as decoration and in small quantities it's completely safe to eat. If you're at all concerned you can either specify in your order form that you don't want it included or you can always scrape it off. It's a little bit of luxury in those bites though, enjoy it!
I want to purchase macarons from you, can you mail them to me?
We take pride in the beautifully crafted macarons that we make and although we would love everyone to have them, we are not comfortable packaging them up and trusting that a mail/parcel delivery service will get them to you in the same condition that we sent them in. They are extremely delicate and therefore do not travel well. If however, you are in Vancouver and want to place an order for pickup before you leave, we would suggest placing your order, and taking them home with you at your own risk.
